The South Pittsburg Police Department has a total of 9 sworn officers. Members of the department are dedicated to making the South Pittsburg community the best it can be and to maintaining an active community partnership with the citizens and businesses of South Pittsburg.
Mission Statement
The mission of the police department is to ensure a safe and secure environment in South Pittsburg for all persons by providing professional law enforcement through responsive, courteous, caring and dedicated service while practicing our core values of integrity, respect, and fairness, and always protect with respect.
What We Do
The department protects the rights of all persons within the city limits to be free from criminal attack, to be secure in their possessions, and to live in peace. We handle every single call for service as a direct need to assist the citizens of South Pittsburg such as animal calls, robbery, and any call for service important to this department. If you have a dispute with anyone we will make every effort to see that all parties are protected and treated properly, and take the necessary actions to see that the best interest of the laws and all persons are served. We must act within the confines of the law and ordinances of the City of South Pittsburg. While acting within these confines we will make every effort to assist you fairly, courteously, and properly.
City Court
The City of South Pittsburg holds municipal court on the second Monday of every month. Court is held at 5:00 p.m. at the City Hall, located at 204 west 3rd street. For more information regarding municipal court please contact the South Pittsburg City Court Clerk at (423) 837-5012.
