 Welcome to the South Pittsburg Parks and Recreation  Department. We provide safe, fun, affordable facilities,  and diverse programs that promote wellness and economic growth to a  thriving community. Our city offers many activities for both children and adults  in the South Pittsburg Community. For children, we offer basketball, softball,  baseball and football. We also offer swimming, jogging, walking and  playground areas. For adults we offer swimming, walking down beautiful tree  lined streets, and beautiful pavilions for reservations.                            
                          The South Pittsburg Parks and Recreation Department is host  to three major parks, Loyd Park, Moore Park, and River Park along the Tennessee  River.  These parks contain ballfields, tennis courts, picnic  pavilions, an outdoor swimming pool, a boat ramp, a boat dock, basketball  courts, and of course playgrounds. Our office is located in the South Pittsburg Senior Citizens  Activity Center at 315 Elm Avenue, South Pittsburg, TN  37380. Recreational  Activities The City offers recreational sports for children ages 3 and  older.  We offer basketball, baseball, softball  and football.  All recreational sports are governed by a board of  directors that help to make decisions based on the needs of each sport.

  Activity Center Reservations Just recently completed is the beautiful Senior Citizen Activity  Center located at 315 Elm Avenue, South Pittsburg.  The activity center  has been beautifully remodeled by our Housing Authority and they have done a  wonderful job making an excellent facility to reserve for you families  gatherings, wedding receptions, baby or wedding showers or dinner  reservations. For  more information about the reservation of the Activity Center, please call (423) 837-6600.
 Facility  Reservations The Parks and Recreation Department offers picnic pavilions and  other various facilities for rent to the general public for free or for a small  fee, depending on the facility.

 Park Pool ReservationsWe offer reservations for the South Pittsburg Park Pool beginning in April of each year to be booked for birthday parties, celebrations  or gatherings.  We require a minimum of 2   hour reservation for a $ 100.00  fee.  This fee includes pool seclusion   from outside guests as well as 2  lifeguards on duty.

 About Us
 The South Pittsburg Police Department has a total of 8 sworn officers.  Members of the   department are dedicated to making the South Pittsburg community the best it can  be and to maintaining an active community partnership with the citizens and  businesses of South Pittsburg.
 Mission StatementThe  mission of the police department is to ensure a safe and secure environment in  South Pittsburg for all persons by providing professional law enforcement  through responsive, courteous, caring and dedicated service while practicing  our core values of integrity, respect, and fairness, and always protect with  respect.
 What We DoThe  department protects the rights of all persons within the city limits to be free  from criminal attack, to be secure in their possessions, and to live in  peace.  We handle every single call for service  as a direct need to assist the citizens of South Pittsburg such as animal calls,  robbery, and any call for service important to this department.  If you have a dispute with anyone we will  make every effort to see that all parties are protected and treated properly,  and take the necessary actions to see that the best interest of the laws and all  persons are served.  We must act within  the confines of the law and ordinances of the City of South Pittsburg.  While acting within these confines we will  make every effort to assist you fairly, courteously, and properly.
 City CourtThe  City of South Pittsburg holds municipal court on the second Monday of every  month.  Court is held at 5:00 p.m. at the  City Hall, located at 204 west 3rd street.  For more information regarding municipal  court please contact the South Pittsburg City Court Clerk at (423) 837-5012.

 Story TimeCome join us   every Wednesday to hear one of our librarians read the story of the day.  Story   Time is for children ages 3 and up.
 Monthly ExhibitThrough the month of   November, the library will be displaying the work of Jack Pell, a resident of   Whiteside.  His work consists of unique bird houses that he has created in the   last year.  Mr. Pell utilized some of the books he checked out at the   Beene-Pearson Public Library and his imagination to create these one of a kind   works of art.
